Old Mill Road is committed to encouraging more small scale growers and for those growers to farm using ecologically sound practice. To that end we offer consultancy, workshops and our internship program and provide support, training and mentoring to increase local food production, to improve the way it’s grown and to enrich the local food culture. We’re happy to help develop any scale growing from balcony scale herb gardens to larger scale commercial crop rotations. Herbs, pigs, pumpkins, lemons, ducks we’ve had a crack at them all and have an understanding on how to scale it up, what to look out for and how to find a market. Currently our focus is on our local bio-region, south-eastern NSW.
Workshops
We conduct workshops through our local community garden SAGE and here at Old Mill Road. We’ll do anything related to the growing of food from the essentially important making of compost to crop rotation and whole workshops on individual species such as corn or chickens. Subscribe for postings on upcoming workshops or contact us if you have a group that wants to learn something.
